Double-Thick Wigs

Double-thick wigs are useful for all sorts of situations. They’re especially great for spiked styles because of the additional volume, but they are also useful for characters with large amounts of wild, loose hair.

You can create a double-thick wig by doubling the amount of hair fiber in your base wig with additional wefts that have been purchased or harvested from a second wig. When adding this new hair, attach each fresh weft between two existing wig wefts. This will result in a pattern of old-new-old-new wefts, which will evenly distribute the new fiber throughout the wig.

TIP: This method works best for shorter styles or layered styles. If you do need to double weft a long wig, take care and use a generous quantity of detangling spray, as the hair will be prone to tangling.
